1. Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to the provision of Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services by Ocean City PAT Testing (“we”, “us” or “our”) to the customer (“you” or “your”). By engaging our services you accept these terms.

2. Services

We will carry out visual inspection and electrical testing of portable electrical appliances at the agreed premises. The scope of work, number of appliances and any agreed pricing will be confirmed before the appointment.

3. Appointments & Access

You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the appliances to be tested and to ensure that equipment is available and accessible at the agreed time. We will use reasonable endeavours to minimise disruption to your home or business.

4. Pricing & Payment

Pricing is as agreed before the appointment. Unless otherwise stated, prices are inclusive of standard testing and reporting and carry no VAT. Payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking. Any additional work requested on site will be quoted separately.

5. Reporting

Following testing, we will provide clear pass/fail labelling and electronic test reports for the appliances inspected. Reports reflect the condition of equipment at the time of testing and do not guarantee future safety.

6. Defective Equipment

Where an appliance fails testing or is identified as unsafe, we will advise you accordingly. Defective equipment should be removed from service and repaired or replaced as appropriate. We are not responsible for the repair or replacement of failed appliances.

7. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the testing service provided. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use or failure of any appliance.

8. Cancellations

Appointments may be cancelled or rearranged with reasonable notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a call-out charge.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time.
